1994 Bay Mare

Suzi is Ms. Kris’s first barrel horse.  She taught her the ropes early on when she could barely even sit in the saddle. Suzi is Doc Bar bred, big, stout and a solid mare. She was a solid jackpot mare until her career was cut short due to an injury.  She was kicked in the leg by another horse which resulted in a broken leg.  Never the quitter, we decided to do surgery at LSU.  We remember  the surgeon’s last words to us before they took her into surgery.  He said her life depended on how smart she would be when she woke up from surgery.  If she was smart enough to stay quiet, she would survive and she did. With a 9 inch plate and screws in her leg she has become a great broodmare and mother. Sometimes bloodlines just can’t replace “desire” and “toughness”.  She has been bred to Firewater on Ice for the last few seasons and has thrown really nice solid babies.
